Snowflake moved to 3-0 on the season with Friday’s 3-point road win over Bradshaw Mountain.

Jacob LaDuke connected with Colter Willis on a 52-yard catch and run, giving the Lobos a 6-0 first-quarter lead. The PAT missed, but those 6 points were the only ones on the board for either team at the end of the period.

In the second quarter, McCoy Norton kicked a 32-yard field goal midway through the second period, extending the Lobo lead to 9-0.

The Bears got on the board late in the half with a 28-yard field goal, leaving Snowflake with a 9-3 halftime lead.

Bradshaw scored first in the second half, booting a second field goal, this one from 25 yards out, closing the gap to 9-6 with the only points in the third quarter.

In the final frame, the Bears took the lead on a short touchdown pass early in the fourth and briefly led Snowflake 13-9. Snowflake battled back with a combination of runs and passes, culminating in a 28-yard scoring strike from LaDuke to Brenner Green. Norton’s PAT put Snowflake on top for good at 16-13.

The Lobo defense held the Bears’ final drive, taking over on downs in the final minute, securing the 3-point win.

LaDuke had one of his better passing games thus far this season. He completed 16 of 24 attempts for 194 yards with a pair of touchdowns and one interception. Willis’ 52-yard catch was his only reception. Christian Smith had 3 for 44 yards, Mason Raban 4 for 34 yards, Gionn Jones 4 for 31 yards, and Green caught 4 for 33 yards.

Snowflake’s ground game was stalled for most of the night. They finished with just 59 total rushing yards. LaDuke gained 38 of those on 7 runs. Green was held in check, gaining only 25 yards on 12 rushes.

While Snowflake is 3-0, two of the three wins have been by a combined 8 points now. This week, they will host Catalina Foothills. The Falcons come to Lobo Stadium with a 2-1 record. They are coming in off a 35-0 shutout loss to Pusch Ridge on Thursday last week.

Snowflake should be able to take advantage of a long bus ride by the Falcons to move to 4-0 on the season.
