By Greg Perkins Snowflake’s boys’ team had the same result as the Lady Lobos on Saturday evening. Earlier in the afternoon Page won the state title in the girl’s contest and once the gym was cleared and fans were re-admitted for the boys’ title game the Sand Devils handed Snowflake’s boys team a defeat in their game as well with a final score of 64-51. Page used their 6’10” center Stuart Sandall for six first quarter points including a two handed jam early on to set the tone. In the second period, Page went to work from distance nailing three treys and netting 19 second-quarter points to lead 30-19 at the break. Snowflake got five from Gannon Larson in the second and four first half points from Michael Brimhall. In the third, Stewart West scored six in the quarter. He added eight more in the fourth for a team high 16 total points. Page just had too many weapons and like their girls’ team, their tough man-to-man defense is what got the job done for them. Noah Baum found his way free for two treys and Gannon Larson finished the game with 10 total points. Page had three players finish in double figures including Sandall with 18 points. The Sand Devils won their first title at the 3A level and finished the season with an overall record of 14-4. Snowflake joined their girls’ team as the 3A State runner up finishing the season with an impressive overall record of 20-2.
