The Lobos won their only contest last week, picking up a relatively easy road win at Ganado, 71-49.

Snowflake took control of the game in the first half then really put the game out of reach, outscoring the Hornets by 12 in the third period.

Michael Bonham led the way for Snowflake with 17 points. Chase Walden and Trent Hall each netted 11. Tanner Yellowhair scored 7; Derek Flake and John Ballard, 6 each; Jake Shumway, 5; Trevor Reddick, 4; and Colton Richards and Reggie Peterson, 2 each.

Blue Ridge is the top seed in the 3A East Regional Tournament. Round Valley is second followed by Snowflake, Alchesay, Payson and Show Low. All of the teams, with the exception of Show Low, are currently ranked in the top 16 in power points.

Snowflake will host Show Low tonight (Feb. 9) in the opening round of the tourney. If the Lobos defeat the Cougars, they will take on second seeded Round Valley on Friday, and will play for either the championship or third and fourth on Saturday. The weekend games will be played at Blue Ridge High School in Lakeside.

The Lobos finished the regular season with a 12-5 record in power point contests, ranking eighth. They will most likely host ninth seeded Safford in the opening round of the state tournament, which begins next week.
