The Lady Wildcats are playing well early this season adding two more lopsided regular season wins to their resume last week.

Hosting Music Mountain on Monday night they poured in 37 first quarter points building a commanding lead over the overmatched Warriors. By halftime the margin was 61-4, and by the end of the third it was 81-16. The final tally was 91-20 for the win.

With such a lopsided win 11 players on the Wildcat roster found the scoring column. Audrey Neill led the way with 29 points. Amber Neill added 16; McKenzie Jesmer, 12; Raylee Fish, 11; Gianna Brawley, 6; Kaci Palmer, 4; Tori Beatty, 4; Jaydiana Kinlicheenie, 3; Lileah Kinlicheenie, 2; Dazbah Gieseker, 2; and Kali Nez also added 2.

The following day the team traveled to Flagstaff to face Northland Prep. Offensively their output wasn’t equal to the night before but defensively they were better. The Spartans were held to single digits in the first half, shutout in the third quarter, and they scored only 6 in the fourth quarter of the 53-13 Wildcat win.

Amber Neill led in scoring with 15. Fish added 12; Jaydiana Kinlicheenie, 8; Audrey Neill, 6; Beatty, 4; Palmer, 4; and Jesmer finished with 4.

With the two wins they improved to 3-0 on the season. This week the team will travel to Heber on Tuesday night for a visit with rival Mogollon. Thursday, they begin play in the three-day Round Valley tournament. The Wildcats are slated to face Valley Sanders and Holbrook in Thursday’s pool play games. Their first bracket game will be Friday afternoon vs San Carlos.

Next week the team travels to Hopi on Tuesday and will host St. Johns on Wednesday.
