The Lady Wildcat hoop team didn’t start the season on a positive note. Joseph City fell on the road at St. Johns last Tuesday by a final of 52-17. Head Coach Dan Bushman has a young roster with only three seniors, two juniors and five sophomores on the team this year.
They will have a chance to build their season this week with play in the Williams Route 66 Holiday Classic with games played on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Joseph City opens the tournament on Thursday with games against Bagdad and Ashfork/Seligman. On Friday they will match up with Grand Canyon and Hopi. Saturday’s action will depend on the outcome of the first two days.
The Wildcats will return to regular season play on Tuesday with a trip to Mayer.
