The Lady Wildcats will head into the final week of the regular season ranked inside the top five of the 1A rankings after picking up two more wins last week. Those victories pushed their season mark to 22-4 overall and they are 14-2 in regular season contests.
Joseph City defeated Red Mesa by a final of 54-41 on Wednesday night. They backed that up with a second home court win on Saturday knocking off the Mayer Wildcats by a final of 68-50.
Only two games remain in their regular season. After playing in Ash Fork on Monday they will host Seligman on Wednesday night. They will play in a region tournament prior to the start of the 1A state tournament which begins on Feb. 9 with a play in game. The Wildcats, if they can remain inside the top five in the rankings, wouldn’t begin tournament play until the quarterfinal round on Feb. 15 at the site of the high seed.
