By Greg Perkins The Lady Wildcats pushed their overall season record to 8-8 and they remain inside the top 10 in the 1A rankings heading into their final game of the regular season, which will be played in Heber on Tuesday. Joseph City went 1-2 last week. They lost at Williams 10-17 on Monday. Williams scored 10 runs in the first three innings, they tacked on seven more in the next three. Joseph City scored three in the third, then added six in the fourth and their final run came in the top of the sixth. Hosting Show Low on Wednesday, the 1A Wildcats fell to the 3A Cougars 5-19 in five innings. On Saturday they hosted rival Mogollon and took care of business with a 12-2 five inning win. After playing in Mogollon, they will have to wait and see where they land in the 1A state tournament bracket to see who their next opponent will be. All four rounds of the 1A state tournament will be held at Rose Mofford Softball Complex. The first round will be on Friday, with the second round on Saturday. The surviving four teams from this weekend will play next weekend in the semi-final and final rounds.
