Joseph City had started the season with 10 straight wins before falling to Sahuarita in a tournament. They picked up their 11th win on Tuesday night with a home field 12-2 five inning win over rival Mogollon.

The Lady Cats scored 2 in the first but saw the Mustangs cut that lead in half in the top of the second. Joseph City put 2 more on the board in the third, then really put the game out of reach with a 5-run fourth inning, giving them a 9-2 lead at that point. After holding Mogollon scoreless in the top of the fifth, Joseph City ended the game early with 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth frame.

The Wildcats earned their 12 runs on 13 hits, with only three batters striking out. Five batters managed to draw walks.

The team won its 12th game on Thursday, a home-field win over a very good Round Valley team.

Both teams scored in the first frame, but the Wildcats put together three consecutive innings with 3 runs in each of the second, third, and fourth to open up a 10-3 lead. An 11th run came in the fifth, each team scored twice in the sixth and neither team scored in the seventh, leaving the Wildcats with a hard fourth 13-5 win.

Hosting Kingman Academy on Saturday afternoon, the Wildcats wrapped up a three-game homestand. Sadly, this game marked the end of their winning streak. The Tigers held the Wildcats without a run through the first five innings. Joseph City broke the ice in the sixth with 5 runs, cutting into what was an 8-0 advantage by the visitors.

In the seventh, the Wildcats held the Tigers without a run. The Cats tried to mount a seventh inning comeback but managed just 1 run before getting their third out, leaving Joseph City on the wrong side of an 8-6 decision.

Kingman Academy finished with 12 hits, all singles except for 1 double. Joseph City scored their 6 runs on 9 hits with 3 strikeouts, and only one Wildcat earned a base with a walk.

Joseph City, now 12-2 overall, will travel to face Anthem Prep on Tuesday. They host neighbor Holbrook on Thursday, in their second of two games this week. Next week, they will host St. Johns on Thursday, then travel to Horizon Honors for a doubleheader on April 12.
