By Greg Perkins The Lady Roadrunners had a tough week on the court dropping both matches they played. On Tuesday they were in Snowflake taking on the always tough Lobos. Snowflake proved their mettle once again defeating Holbrook in three straight games. Hosting Northland Prep on Thursday, things looked good early on for the Lady Birds. They defeated the Spartans 25-21 in the first game and had the momentum going into the second. Northland Prep turned that momentum around quickly with a 25-16 win in game two. They cruised through game three winning it 25-11, then repeated that performance in game four winning the match 3-1. With the two losses, Holbrook sits at 2-3 on the young season. After playing in Round Valley on Monday, Holbrook will host Monument Valley on Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, they will compete in the Be Like Nat volleyball tournament hosted by Snowflake. Holbrook is slated to face Snowflake, Round Valley and Chinle in pool play matches on Friday. Saturday’s schedule will depend on pool play results. Next Tuesday Holbrook will play at Show Low.
