The Lady Roadrunners won the Jan. 22 game in Show Low 31-27, but it was far from an impressive performance. The 18th ranked Lady Cougars played tough in the first eight minutes and held a 10-9 lead after one. Late in the second period Madison Chappell scored 7 points helping a sluggish Holbrook team hold an 18-14 halftime margin.

The 10th ranked Roadrunners were fortunate to leave Show Low with a win. “Except for the third period, that is about as poorly as we have played all year. We need to refocus on both ends of the floor if we want to make any noise in the state tournament. Give Show Low credit, they played us tough and they are much improved over recent years. We are out of time, it is time for the girls to start stepping up,” stated Roadrunner Coach Greg Perkins.
