Snowflake showed why they are deserving of their lofty second place ranking in the 3A power point system with an easy three game win over Holbrook on Tuesday night.
The Lobos won their 10th consecutive regular season match. They controlled the first game 25-10, relaxed a bit in the second but still won it 25-22, then finished off the Roadrunners in convincing style in game three 25-12. That win moved their regular season mark to 10-0 and inched them even closer to top ranked Northwest Christian who sits atop the 3A standings with a 12-0 record.
Holbrook entered the game in the precarious position of 25th in the rankings. Teams finishing inside the top 24 will have an opportunity to compete in the 3A state play in games. Holbrook, now 2-6, will need to pick up a couple of wins over the course of their final matches if they want to have a chance to prolong their season.
Holbrook hosted Blue Ridge on Oct. 3 night then will traveled to Chinle for a double-header match on Saturday. They will host Payson on Thursday tomorrow (Oct. 11) during Holbrook’s fall break.
Snowflake also has six remaining matches left, then will be off until Oct. 16 when they host Payson.
