The Lady Lobos placed third in their pool as well as third overall at the 20-team, 11th annual Gracie Haught Softball Tournament held in Payson the weekend before spring break. Snowflake earned pool play wins over Sunnyslope 12-5 and a solid Camp Verde team 6-5. The Lobos’ only pool play loss was a 7-5 decision to tournament runner-up Tanque Verde. In bracket play Snowflake went 3-1, picking up wins over Apache Junction 5-1, Show Low 12-0 and Winslow 5-4 in the third place game. The Lobos had their only setback to eventual champion Payson, getting shutout by the Lady Longhorns 8-0 in the semifinal round. The Lobos headed into spring break with an overall record of 12-6-1. They were slated to resume action on Tuesday, when they hosted Show Low. On Thursday, April 2, they will host Alchesay and the next day they play Round Valley at Eagar.
