When the initial 3A volleyball rankings came out on Tuesday of last week the Lady Lobos found themselves in the customary position on top of the list. This past week they did nothing to drop them from that spot winning both regular season contests before playing well in the SpikeTown tournament over the weekend.
Snowflake started the week with two easy victories. The first came at home with a 3-0 win over visiting Show Low. The second was a 3-0 win at Holbrook. They weren’t tested in either matchup.
The Ladies won their first six matches in the high-powered tournament hosted by Benjamin Franklin. Snowflake defeated Tuba City 2-0, and Thatcher 2-0 on Friday. On Saturday they took care of ALA Ironwood 2-0, ALA Queen Creek 2-1, Scottsdale Christian 2-0, and Northwest Christian 2-1. Their only loss of the tournament came against ALA Gilbert North who beat them 2-1.
This week the Lobos will put their top ranking on the line when they travel to Payson on Wednesday in their only game of the week. Next week they will play at Winslow on Tuesday then host Payson next Thursday. Snowflake is currently 9-1 in regular season matches.
