The Lady Lobos’ impressive season continues in the new year. After taking the Platinum Bracket Championship at the Chandler Prep Tournament, Snowflake returned to regular season action on Thursday with a hard fought 55-54 win at Alchesay.
Both teams played well in the first frame, with the Falcons holding a two-point edge after one. Snowflake had a solid second period outscoring the home team by seven to take a 31-26 lead into the second half. The Lobos scored just enough points in the second half to secure the one-point lead, which kept them ranked inside the top 10 in the 3A rankings.
Friday night Snowflake returned home to take on St. Johns. The Lady Lobos pushed their current win streak to six games with a 54-44 win over the Redskins.
Snowflake ended last week ranked eighth in the 3A standings but when the rankings come out on Tuesday morning look for them to be a little higher. Coach Clare has his team playing very well.
They will be busy this week trying to keep that winning streak going. After hosting Blue Ridge on Tuesday, they will play at Payson on Thursday. On Saturday, the team travels to Monument Valley to face the Mustangs. Next Tuesday, Snowflake will host Holbrook.
The Lady Lobos entered this week with an overall record of 13-3. They are 5-2 in power point contests.
