Snowflake’s volleyball team has been a consistent juggernaut in recent years and this year is no different. Head Coach Alan Ramage once again has his team piling up wins. Heading into this week, the Lady Lobos are 6-0 in regular season matches. Last week on Sept. 11, the team traveled to Page and came home with a 3-1 win over a good Sand Devil team.
Snowflake won the first game 25-13 and took the second 25-7. They dropped game three 21-25, but closed the match out with a 25-14 win in the fourth game.
The Lobos hosted their own tournament this past weekend, going 5-2 over the two days. Snowflake was nearly perfect on Friday defeating Chinle 2-0, Pima 2-0 and Window Rock 2-0 in pool play.
Saturday also started well with the team earning a 2-1 win over what is always a very talented Monument Valley squad. Snowflake then fell to Tuba City 0-2, but rebounded with a 2-0 over Blue Ridge. The team’s final match of the tournament was a 1-2 loss to a very talented Mesquite team.
Snowflake will return to regular season play for one match on Tuesday when they host St. Johns. This weekend they will participate in the Kayenta Township Monument Valley Mustang Tournament.
Following that tournament, they have eleven regular season matches left including all 10 East Region contests. Snowflake will begin that stretch on Sept. 25 when they host Blue Ridge.
