By Greg Perkins The Lady Wildcats of Joseph City improved to 11-3 on the season with a 10-point victory over Northland Prep last Tuesday night. Playing in Flagstaff at the home of the Spartans the Wildcats played well through the first eight minutes, building a 19-5 margin. In the second their scoring slowed a bit, but they increased their lead to 15 points at the half. Both teams came out of the break shooting well, combing for 44 points as the Spartans cut into Joseph City’s lead. The fourth period was just the opposite with the teams scoring just seven points in the 51-41 Wildcat win. Heading into this week’s action the Lady Wildcats were 7-1 in the all important power point rankings and sitting in 17th position. After playing at Mogollon on Tuesday, the Wildcats will host Hayden on Friday, Jan. 17, then welcome in El Capitan on Saturday. On Tuesday they travel to Cibecue.
