The Lady Wildcats of Joseph City have won two of their five games since returning to the court this month.

They opened the new year with an impressive 38-21 win over Northland Prep Jan. 5 in Flagstaff.

Two days later the Lady Cats fell at St. Johns, 39-20.

Playing at Mayer on Tuesday of last week, Joseph City won a close contest, 41-38.

Hosting their rival and nemesis Mogollon last Friday night the Wildcats came up short in a 49-22 loss.

That game was followed by a trip to Grand Canyon on Saturday, which resulted in a 43-61 loss.

The Wildcats are 7-14 on the season and headed into this week ranked 20th in the 1A power rankings. They have some work to do if they want to climb into the top 16, which is where they will need to be to make the state tournament. On Thursday, Jan. 19, they will play Mogollon in Heber, then will host Williams the following night.
