The Winslow Lady Bulldogs softball team edged the Holbrook Lady Roadrunners 1-0 on a one-hit shutout pitched last Wednesday by Halle Hayes, who had 17 strikeouts in the game. The win kept Winslow undefeated at 5-0 going into the Payson Invitational Tournament on the weekend.

Hayes scored the only run of the game when she tripled leading off the bottom of the first inning, then came home after a hit batsman and a stolen base. She led the Lady Bulldogs at the plate with a pair of triples in two official at bats. Dallas Zamora was one for two and Megan Lymer was one for three with a double for the Lady Bulldogs, who were held to just three hits by the Holbrook hurler.

The Lady Bulldogs will play Blue Ridge at Lakeside today (March 21), Williams at Williams on Thursday and Hopi at Polacca on Friday.
