By K. Conner On April 6, Winslow hosted Blue Ridge on a windy day. In the first inning Lady Yellowjacket Michelle Basinger would hit a two-run home run to give Blue Ridge a 2-0 lead. But in the bottom of the first inning Lady Bulldog Brynlee Barris hits a double and with two RBIs to tie the game 2-2. In the top of the third inning, Basinger would again hit another two-run home run to put Blue Ridge back on top 4-2. In the bottom of the inning a sacrifice fly by Barris would allow a run to score, narrowing the Yellow Jacket lead 4-3. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lady Bulldog Desbah White would get her home run and again tie the score 4-4. Brinleigh Arredondo bunt and brought in a run to put Winslow ahead 5-4. Andrea Guzman would get out on a grounder but it allowed Mikell Branson to score increasing the Winslow lead 6-4. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Branson would hit a single driving in a run, then Brinleigh Arredondo would hit a double to bring in another. Kristara Tso hit a single that took the score up to 10-4. Mykenzie Flores hit a single with a RBI and Alexis Smith also had a single and a RBI, giving Winslow the win with a final score Winslow 12, Blue Ridge 4. Winning pitcher Barris had two hits, four runs and nine strikeouts. Winslow had four errors in the game. Blue Ridge pitcher Basinger had 17 hits, 12 runs and eight strikeouts. Blue Ridge had 11 errors.
