By K. Conner Last Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Payson to meet Lady Longhorns after suffering a hard loss against Snowflake the night before. In the first quarter it was evident that the Lady Longhorns were a tougher and more seasoned team than they faced a few weeks ago. The Bulldogs seemed to start the game still a little shaken up from the night before and would only lead the Longhorns by two points at the end of the quarter, 18-16. In the second quarter, by switching from man defense to a zone defense, the Lady Bulldogs took control again and went to outshoot the Lady Longhorns 19-10 and open-up the lead by 11 points at the half with a score of 37-26. The third quarter would find the Lady Bulldogs stepping on the gas shooting five three-point shots and going into the fourth quarter with a score of 64-40. The fourth quarter would have the Lady Dawgs playing a slowed down game, keeping the Lady Longhorns to just seven points and would win with a final score of 75-47. High scorer of the game Winslow’s Kristen Wagner with 16 points, which included a three-point shot, followed closely by Jaci Gonnie with 15 points including three three-point shots and Sierra Singer with 13 points including a three-point shot. Also in double digits was Oniah Barton-Paddock with 10 points and McKayle Taylor of Payson with 10 points.
