Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith was born and raised in Holbrook and graduated from Holbrook High School. She gained her BS in Nonprofit Management from Arizona State University. Raised by parents that had a strong desire to serve the community, this trait has been passed on and Smith has been a part of many different organizations through the years, Kiwanis, Navajo County Historical Society, Holbrook Chamber of Commerce, Holbrook Foundation and Care for Life.

Smith’s career has centered around non-profit, construction, community development and workforce development. Her husband, David, is a general contractor. They have been married for 30-plus years and have three children.

Currently serving as Holbrook’s mayor, Smith is seeking reelection, with a continued focus on improving the quality of life for all residents.

Her priorities include main street revitalization and beautification, through ensuring that existing policies are strictly followed, while identifying and addressing any breakdowns in their implementation.

Smith plans to work with administration to update and actively pursue the city’s five-year street improvement plan. Another priority will be to actively seek new economic and tourism opportunities to boost revenues, thereby enabling the city to provide a higher standard of living.

Smith strongly believes that quality of life amenities are not only important to the residents, but will be a natural attraction for families and individuals to want to move to Holbrook and will attract a stronger workforce to the area.

Smith has shown that she is not only willing to listen to the residents’ concerns, but she will do all in her power to make the changes needed. She believes with the right administration and a positive, forward-thinking council, good things are on the horizon, and we will see progress come quickly and done with quality.

Reelect Mayor Kathleen Smith for continued progress and a brighter future for Holbrook.
