Karen Rose Elmore fell asleep in death on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at the age of 82. Karen was devoted to her God Jehovah, and was a loving mother, loyal wife, wonderful sister and great friend. She was born at home to Helen Marie and Adolph (Swede) Paul Anderson in Little Shute, Wisc., and was the oldest of six children. In 1953 Karen moved with her family to Phoenix and on Feb. 4, 1960, she married Jimmie Lee Elmore. They were married for 37 years, raised two children, and operated Elmore Construction Company in the Phoenix area. Karen lived a full life with her family and her ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She loved spending time helping others study the Bible and always said how much joy and fulfillment this work brought to her life. She especially loved sharing the Bible’s promise of a future paradise earth and the resurrection Jesus described at John 5:28,29: “For the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.” Until that time her friends and family will miss her greatly. Karen is survived by son, Dan (Shirley) Elmore; sister, Vonnie Reach; sister, Jackie (Paul) Boyd; brother, Keith (Anne) Anderson; brother, Cary (Sherry) Anderson; grandchildren, Linda Elmore, Michael Fuller, Crystal Fuller and Sarah Reid. She was preceded in death by parents, Helen and Adolph Anderson; husband, Jim Elmore; daughter, Vicki Follis; sister, Kathy Cooper and brother, Kevin Anderson. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
