Juanita Maria Tostado
Juanita Maria Tostado was welcomed by our Lord on Dec. 4, 2021, at her home in Holbrook. She was born on May 17, 1939. She was the second to the oldest of five children of Valentine Sr., and Carlotta Sandoval Padilla (both deceased). Juanita was 82 years old.
She was a homemaker and babysitter for many years and helped raise so many in the Holbrook community. Everywhere she went in Holbrook she would run into someone she either babysat at one time or babysat their children. She was a great cook, loved gardening, was a talented artist, loved kids, a dog lover but most rewarding to her was spending time with her kids and family.
Juanita is survived by those left to cherish her memory including her children, Carlos Tostado (Debbie), Beverly Fargher (Timothy), Elaine Pacheco (Gilbert – deceased) and Patrick Tostado (Jessica); granddaughters, Ashley Pacheco, Brianna Ross, Ariell Cochenour (Bryn) and Bianca Settgast-Taylor (Malachi Sr.); grandsons, Jesus Soto Jr. and Luis Soto; her six great-grandsons, Jonathan, Brantley, Elias, Malachi Jr., Luke and Easton; and lastly her siblings, Valentine Padilla and Carla Brooks.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Tostado Sr.; her children, Mark Tostado and Jacquelyn Tostado; brothers, Fred Padilla and Armando Padilla; and her parents, Valentine and Carlotta Padilla.
Services for Juanita were held on Dec. 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook. There will be a graveside service on May 14, 2022.
