With two more losses added to their total last week the Wildcats head into the final week of the basketball season looking ahead to baseball. Joseph City was ranked 39th in power points at the beginning of the week and even if the Cats could muster wins in their final two games, they will most likely be on the outside looking in once the Division IV state playoffs get underway next week.

Joseph City fell to Mogollon on Tuesday at Heber by a final of 58-43. Friday’s home game against St. Johns was closer, with the Wildcats making a fourth quarter run by scoring 28 points. That comeback came up just short, however, with St. Johns prevailing 71-65.

With the two losses the Cats fell to 9-17 on the season. They will close out the regular season with two games this week. They will play at Hayden tonight (Feb. 4), then host Ray in the season finale on Friday, Feb. 6.
