At 11:09 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, Navajo County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-40 near Milepost 286 in Holbrook for unsafe vehicle operation. During the traffic stop, deputies could smell the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search was conducted and revealed 11 grams of cocaine, three grams of THC wax, two ounces of marijuana, a large amount of cash and a pistol. Joseph Alexander Franklin, 30, and Erica Liliana Lopez, 19, both of Santa Fe, N.M., were arrested for possession of a narcotic drug for sale, transportation of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of marijuana and misconduct involving weapons. Franklin and Lopez were booked into the Navajo County Jail and are each being held on a $100,000 secured bond.
