Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology (NAVIT) Superintendent addressed the Holbrook Unified School District Governing Board last week regarding the district’s participation in the program’s offerings.
Superintendent Dr. Robbie Koerperich stated that there are about 38 students attending programs off campus and 440 students on campus. It was noted that the 400 students do not include those taking multiple courses bringing the number of classes utilized by students to 500.
Board President Linda Yazzie asked Weber what could be done to get the ninth grades back in the program. He stated that they needed to talk to the legislators to inform them of the importance of freshman funding and what it can do for Holbrook.
Board Vice President Claudia Jackson was recognized for receiving the Copper Award and Master of Boardsmanship from the Arizona School Boards Association. Dr. Koerperich informed the board that they would be receiving the Total Board Award at the annual conference in December.
