One collision was investigated by Holbrook police officers during the period of April 6-12, according to dispatcher reports. At approximately 5:12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, a three-vehicle collision with injuries occurred at the intersection of Navajo Blvd. and Hopi Drive. The vehicles involved were a green 1999 Oldsmobile sedan driven by Gjermundson Tully, 32, of Chinle with passenger April Summers, 36, of Chinle, a white 2000 Chevy Blazer driven by Travis Debauche, 32, of Two Rivers, Wis., and a Kenworth semi-truck driven by Thomas Hofmeyer, 28, of Hull, Ind. According to the report, Debauche was stopped in the southbound number one lane of Navajo Blvd. waiting on the red light at Hopi Drive when he was struck from behind by Tully. Tully’s vehicle then swerved to the left, striking the semi-truck that was traveling north on Navajo Blvd. in the number two lane. Tully sustained a head injury and was transported to Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow. Officers reported that both Tully and Summers were combative with EMS and officers and had the odor of alcohol about them, and two empty pints of vodka were located in the Oldsmobile. Officers did a blood draw and charges of DUI, assault and hindering an investigation were forwarded to the Navajo County Attorney’s Office for review.
