As an employer, would you like to know the employment forecast for the next five years? As a job seeker, do you want to learn more about how employers in our area make hiring decisions, or where you can go to receive training and job assistance? Come to the Holbrook Job Academy, a morning workshop scheduled on Wednesday, April 2, where you will find answers to these and other important employment questions. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., and keynote speaker Pres Winslow will discuss employment trends for Northern Arizona for the next five years and the job skills that will be most in demand during that time period. Following the keynote, panelists from the Holbrook Unified School District, Denny’s, Tractor Supply Company, Navajo County and other significant local employers will discuss the factors that prompt them to move from an application for employment to an interview, and from an interview to a positive hiring decision. Participants’ questions will be welcomed during the workshop, and the registration fee of $5 will cover both materials and lunch. Any business or agency can purchase materials and lunch for up to five employees for $15. To register for this workshop, pick up a registration form from the library’s Job Help Hub and return it to the library by March 28 with the registration fee. You may also contact the library at holbrookhub@gmail.com to register online. Only 50 seats are available for this workshop, so participants should register as soon as possible.
