Holbrook Elks Lodge No. 2450 extends an invitation to all youth between the ages of 8 and 13 as of April 1, 2015, to participate in the 2015 Elks Hoop Shoot. The lodge will hold its annual competition on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Hulet Elementary School. The doors will open at 8 a.m. with the competition beginning at 8:30 a.m. Participants must be on time to participate. The Holbrook Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw competition in which students of similar ages compete against one another to see who can make the most free throws in 25 shots. Winners in each division will advance to the regional and state competition, and, if successful, all the way to nationals. There will be a boys’ division and a girls’ division in each age category. The Elks would like to have as many participants as possible, and volunteers are needed to rebound and keep score.
