Young then shared highlights from his meeting with the League of Cities and Towns. During their visit he learned that the city would receive funding from HURF (Highway User Revenue Funds) in the amount of $197,802. According to Young, this would be the “first time in several years” that Holbrook will receive funding from HURF. City Manager Ted Soltis explained that they have not yet decided on how the funds will be allocated.

Young turned the attention to Soltis and his efforts to continue clean up of the city. Soltis opened with information on the theme of cleanup for Holbrook. Soltis informed the council that the city would be sending out trash coupons as an incentive to encourage cleanup. The coupon is good for $10 toward one load at the transfer site, drop off only and does not include pick up service. They were to be mailed out to all residential utility customers with their bill at the end of June. Soltis did note that customers who are electronically billed will need to pick one up at City Hall.

The golf course signs are also set to get a new coat of paint according to Soltis who has arranged to have them redone.
