Holbrook celebrated Old West Fest last weekend with a large turnout at the Navajo County Fairgrounds. The event featured pie eating contests, live music, cultural arts, and Native American and Folklorico dancing. The Battle of the Bands was won by Wild Whiskey, city councilwoman Arcenia Pacheco once again reigned as the winner of the chili cook-off, and Mariah Ferniza and Wesley Burdie tied in the kid’s pie eating contest while Wesley’s father, Wilson Purdue, took home first place in the adult contest. The day also featured a junior rodeo, great food and games for the entire family.
