By Greg Perkins Holbrook’s wrestlers originally planned to enter the highly competitive Peoria Invitational last weekend, but bad weather and tough road conditions left them with an alternative, which was to join more than 20 teams at the Joseph City Invitational. The Roadrunners finished in fourth place in the small individual portion of the meet behind first place Yuma, second place Arizona Lutheran Academy and third place Carl Hayden. In the dual portion of the meet the Roadrunners wound up 5-2, losing out to Arizona Lutheran and Carl Hayden, which they tied, but fell to third due to criteria. Individually, Holbrook was led by Levi McClellan who won first place with a 9-0 record. Noah Barela placed second (7-2), as did Mac Stump (8-1), Shane McGraw (7-2) and Robert Romo (8-1). Adriano Sam placed third (7-2). Finishing in 5th place were Jedde Bowman (6-2), and Zach McLaws (6-2). Also wrestling for Holbrook, but not placing, were Sanchez Begay (3-4), Hershal Skeet (4-3), Ryan Martin (3-4) and Sam Sumpter (3-4).
