Soccer season has come to a close for both the boys’ and girls’ teams at Holbrook High School. Both were very young, with neither having a senior on the roster, which bodes well for future growth.
With such young rosters, though, both teams struggled this year, with the Roadrunners finishing just 10-1 after last Monday’s 5-4 loss at St. Michael.
The Lady Roadrunners showed much improvement this year despite going just 12-1 during the season. They fell 10-0 at Round Valley last Tuesday, then lost 6-1 at Camp Verde on Friday.
In their final match Rayanna Wauneka scored Holbrook’s 12th goal of the season, which is a huge improvement from recent years.
“Both Head Coach Beth Baloo and I are proud of this amazing group of girls. They are hard working and dedicated young women who are fighters on and off the field,” said Assistant Coach Victor Paz.
“We want to thank them for a great and amazing season. We also want to thank the parents and the community for supporting the ladies this season.”
