The Lady Roadrunners experienced both ends of the competitive spectrum last week, getting shut out by a very good Winslow squad, then turning the tables against a lesser Alchesay team the next day.

Hosting the Lady Bulldogs on Thursday, Holbrook gave up four runs in the first inning and never had a chance against the visitors. The Lady Birds managed just two hits against Winslow pitching in a 19-0 shutout loss. Tess Baldonado went one for two and Demo Perkins was one for one. Holbrook made things easier for the Lady Bulldogs with eight fielding errors in the loss. Kellin Bakurza was the losing pitcher for Holbrook.

Hosting Alchesay on Friday, it was Holbrook that was the dominant team. The Lady Birds scored three in the home half of the first, then batted around, scoring 10 runs in the second inning and cruised to the 14-0, five-inning win.

As much as they struggled with Winslow’s pitching the day earlier, they had little problem putting the bat on the ball against the Lady Falcon pitching staff. Bakurza went four for four. Alizia Foster and Terra Hooker were both three for four. Perkins and Janecia Nez each went two for three.

Nez earned the win in the circle for Holbrook with 11 strikeouts, no walks and allowed just one hit.
