The Holbrook High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will be hosting alumni games on Saturday, July 25, at Muñoz Gym. The games will be a fundraising activity for both teams, as admission of $5 for adults, and $3 for senior citizens and kids under 12 will be charged. The girls’ game will begin at 5 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow at 7 p.m. All former Roadrunners and Lady Roadrunners are invited to play against the 2015-16 players. Alumni wishing to play in the games should contact Coach Greg Perkins, Coach Delmar Johnson or Athletic Director Paul Demuth for details and to sign up to play. All players are welcome to a practice at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 24. This will be a chance to see who will play on each team and will be free to the public. The basketball programs hope to make this an annual event and would like to have a large fan base show up to support both young and older Roadrunners as they return to their glory days at Muñoz Gym. In recent years the Holbrook boys’ team has a state title and has been a final four team. The Lady Roadrunners have returned to prominence as well with a final four berth and an elite eight trip last year. Roadrunner fans may have a chance to see players from those teams in action once again as they battle the current Roadrunner squads.
