The majority of Holbrook’s track athletes were in action for the final time this season when they competed in the Snowflake Last Chance Meet on Wednesday. This meet gave athletes a final chance to achieve qualifying standards in individual events.
Holbrook boys’ team finished in seventh place at the meet and the girls’ team finished tied for 11th. Twenty-three teams were at the meet.
Holbrook has just four individuals who have met the qualifying standards during the season and they will be competing at the state meet this weekend.
Kiah Demuth is the only girl to make the state meet and she will compete in the 800 meter run.
Jeffrey Jones qualified in two events and will compete in both the long jump and the triple jump.
Zakhari Waits has also qualified in two events and will be in action in both the discus and the shot put.
Troy Hill had a very strong finish to his season in the shot put and will be competing in that event at the state meet.
The Division III state track meet will be held on Friday and Saturday at Mesa Community College.
