A former Joseph City resident arrested August of last year in Safford has been charged with nine counts of sexual conduct involving a minor and 15 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Remington Baldwin, 29, resided in Safford at the time of the arrest by Thatcher police after a sting operation involving one of the alleged victims. Following the arrests, a warrant was obtained by officers for Baldwin’s phone. According to the report, numerous explicit videos involving boys under the age of 14 and over an extended period of time were collected from the phone.
Baldwin has been incarcerated at the Graham County Jail since his arrest with a trial date set for May 3 in Graham County Superior Court.
Thatcher detectives also learned Baldwin had been a suspect in two other cases involving children, including one instance when he was accused of showering with a toddler and a Joseph City report out of the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office regarding Baldwin as the suspect in a sex abuse case involving a 15-year-old boy that had occurred four years ago. That case only began to be investigated in November 2020 and the victim ultimately declined to cooperate with criminal charges.
If you or someone you know has been a victim of criminal sexual conduct, you are encouraged to contact the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 524-4050 and report the incident.
