By Greg Perkins Members of the Snowflake girls’ soccer team have positioned themselves nicely for a post-season run. The Lady Lobos headed into this week’s action ranked fifth in the power point standings. Snowflake won both matches played last, which included a big win over Holbrook on Tuesday followed by a 3-0 shutout of St. Johns on Wednesday. Tuesday’s trip to Holbrook was a fun one for the Lobos with 10 different Snowflake players scoring goals in the 11-0 win. Heather Beatty, Taegan West, Amanda Lara, Rebecca Neff, Briley Peterson, Rachel Turley, Megan Gardner, Ronnie Owens and Kimber Solomon each scored once for Snowflake. Macie Rawlins scored twice in the win. Hosting a better St. Johns team on Wednesday, Snowflake again pitched a shutout, but scored just three goals in the win. Lara, Rawlins and Solomon each found the net. Audrey Livingston and Neff were each credited with an assist in the win. With the wins the Lobos improved to 7-3 on the season. They will host No. 6 Round Valley today (Oct. 15), then will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 22, when they host a struggling Holbrook squad.
