Gene Gabaldon, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died peacefully in his home in Holbrook on the morning of June 15, 2019. Gene was born in Quemado, N.M., to Juan and Emilia Gabaldon on March 9, 1930, he had six siblings that he has now joined in heavenly eternal life.

Services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook on June 22.

Gene and Annie were joined in holy marriage on Aug 12, 1960, and have spent the past 59 years happily married as part of the Holbrook community with faith always being a family staple.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Annie “Tafoya” Gabaldon; and his seven children, Dennis Madrid, Roberta Martinez, Gloria (Andy) Pelzer, Gina Gabaldon, Eddie (Rose) Gabaldon, Nancy (Greg) Vail and Peggy Ann (Tony) Confalone. Gene had 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren that were his pride and joy.

Gene was an avid hunter and fisher who enjoyed his time with family and friends outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who his touch has affected.

Gene will now be laid to rest with his family members who have been called before him.
