Joseph City Junior High/High School has welcomed a familiar face as its new principal. While Eric Miller just started his first year as principal at the school, he’s been with the district for 10 years.

Miller served as the junior high activities director for six years, as high school activities director for two years and as dean of students for three years. He also served as assistant principal last year.

He has a well-rounded history of teaching, and is certified in Spanish, math, history, government and middle grades social studies. Although not certified in the subject, he also has some experience in music.

Miller has also been head varsity coach in girls’ and boys’ basketball, and baseball, and has also coached some football.

“I am very excited to have Mr. Miller working in the position of Joseph City Junior High/High School principal. He has a vast background in teaching many subjects at our school and has proven his leadership abilities in a variety of roles that he has held over the years,” said Superintendent Bryan Fields, who held the position prior to Miller.

Fields noted that Miller also holds a master’s degree in Education Technology Leadership. “I know that he is adequately prepared for this new role and that he has all the tools to lead our school to great success. He was born and raised in this community, and returned as a certified teacher in 2007. He was a great student here, a great teacher and coach, and I’m confident that he’ll be a great principal,” said the superintendent. “Mr. Miller is deeply vested in our schools, and has a genuine concern for the progress of all of the students.”
