Holbrook Elks Lodge No. 2450 will hold the 2015 Elks Hoop Shoot on Saturday, Dec. 13, at Hulet Elementary School. All youth between the ages of 8 and 13 as of April 1, 2015, are invited to participate. The doors will open at 8 a.m., followed by the competition at 8:30 a.m. Youth must be on time to participate. The Hoop Shoot is a free throw competition in which students of similar ages compete against one another to see who can make the most free throws in 25 shots. Winners in each division will advance to the regional and state competitions, and, if successful, all the way to nationals. There will be a boys’ division and a girls’ division in each age category. The Elks would like to have as many participants as possible, and volunteers are needed to rebound and keep score. If you have questions pertaining to the free throw contest, please contact Robbie Koerperich at rdkoerperich5@gmail.com.
