During the Holbrook Unified School District Board meeting held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, Superintendent Dr. Robbie Koerperich spoke with the board regarding suicide prevention and adding the suicide prevention hotline to the students’ handbooks, since the school does not do student identification cards.
“They want it readily available. They want it so that our students and our staff understand that that is a resource. Right now, they would have to search for that information,” Koerperich stated. “We need to make these kinds of things more visual. There’s a balance there, because you don’t want to plant the seed in their mind, either,” Koerperich added when talking about adding signage for awareness around the school.
