Christina L. Chavez Montoya passed away on Feb. 2, 2019, in Glendale, Ariz. She was born on June 21, 1943, to Joe Cruz and Cecilia Chavez in Concho.

A Rosary swill be held at 10 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. on Feb. 11 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 225 E. Arizona St. in Holbrook. Interment will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery.

Christina grew up in Holbrook and that’s where she met her husband, Felix Montoya Jr. They married and raised three children together. Christina worked for Motel 66 in Holbrook for more than 18 years. She was also a homemaker and loving mother. She enjoyed life and was loved by all.

Christina is survived by her husband, Felix Montoya Jr.; daughters, Elizabeth Montoya and Penney Sosa; son, D’akhenya Michael Montoya; five granddaughters; one grandson; and five great-granddaughters. Christina will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Christina is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Cruz and Cecilia Chavez; four sisters; three brothers; her in-laws, Felix Sr. and Mary Montoya; three sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and her eldest grandson, Damien Montoya.
