With the resignation of Alberto Peshlakai, the Holbrook Unified School District will be seeking a new board member from the Indian Wells area. Superintendent of Schools Linda Morrow appointed Peshlakai to the position following the completion of Rosie Sekayumptewa’s term at the end of 2014. Peshlakai never actually served on the board, as his first meeting was to be on Jan. 13.
Peshlakai stated that he was unable to serve on the board due to additional offices he holds and personal family matters that require his attention. Morrow accepted his resignation and will be making a decision on a new appointment at the end of February.
Individuals interested in serving on the board for the four-year term must be registered voters in Arizona and have been residents of the Holbrook School District Ward No. 1 for at least one year. An application may be obtained from the Navajo County School Superintendent’s office by submitting a written request to P.O. Box 668, Holbrook, Ariz. 86025 or by calling (928) 524-4204.
