The Winslow Bulldogs got back to winning last Friday night with an easy 48-13 victory over the 1-4 Fountain Hills Falcons. The Bulldogs improved to 3-2, but face a major challenge tonight (Oct. 2) when they travel to Show Low to meet the undefeated Cougars on their home turf. Show Low beat Combs 49-22 to improve to 5-0 for the season. That was the closest game the Cougars have played this season.

There are four undefeated teams on Winslow’s schedule and the Bulldogs must play three of them in their last five games, beginning with Show Low. Also undefeated are Blue Ridge and Snowflake. The Yellowjackets defeated the Coolidge Bears 35-7 last Friday and will have a challenge against the 4-1 Payson Longhorns tonight. The Snowflake Lobos got a tough 20-12 win over the Florence Gophers last week, but should have an easier time tonight against the 1-4 Page Sand Devils.

The other undefeated team on Winslow’s schedule is the Lake Havasu Knights, who edged the Bulldogs 27-20 in the season opener and remained unbeaten last weekend with a 49-0 win over Lee Williams. The Knights will meet the Wickenburg Wranglers tonight. Wickenburg lost to the Bulldogs 50-41 and lost Friday to Mohave 27-20 to fall to 2-3 for the season.

The Bulldogs should have an easy time with the Page Sand Devils on Oct. 16, but have a difficult task on Oct. 9 against the 4-1 Longhorns in Payson. The Longhorns nipped the Flagstaff Eagles 32-28 on Friday and journey to Lakeside tonight to meet the Blue Ridge Yellowjackets.

The Holbrook Roadrunners improved to 3-2 and a winning season on Friday with an easy 65-0 win over the Greyhills Academy Knights. Holbrook will be at Red Mesa tonight with an opportunity to improve its record.

The Coronado Dons crushed Page 56-6 to improve to 4-1 for the season, but face a tough task tonight when they meet the Bears at Coolidge.
