By K. Conner Last Friday the Bulldogs traveled to Whiteriver to take on the Alchesay Falcons. In the first inning Bulldog Sonny Wilbanks would hit a triple to score two RBI’s and Aiden Ortez Kislingbury would single and score RBI. Teagan Chacon’s double brought in another RBI to end the inning 4-0. In the bottom of the first, Falcon’s Trevor Quintero single brought in an RBI to put the Falcons on the board. In the top of the second with two outs Zane Corum and Jace Lyons would both score on an error by the catcher making the score 6-1. Tyson Leonard’s double scored two more runs and in the third inning Winslow would score seven more runs with Touron Dick on a passed ball; Zane Corum on a single, with an RBI; Lyons on a triple, with an RBI; Sonny Wilbanks on a triple, with two RBIs; Aiden Kislingbury on a single, with an RBI; and Dick on a single, with an RBI made up the runs to give Winslow a 15-1 lead. In the bottom of the third, Falcon Dante Shipp’s double scored an RBI. Then in the top of the fourth, Bulldog Teagan Chacon’s single scored an RBI. Justus Martin scored on an error followed by a Stormy Kinlencheenie single with an RBI, and Teagan Chacon would score also on an error making the score 19-2. In the bottom of the fourth Falcon’s Allyn Cosay singled to bring in a run 19-3. Dante Shipp doubled with an RBI. In the top of the fifth, Bulldog George Smith doubled and got an RBI, followed by a Chris Arellano Triple who scored two RBI’s. The final score was Winslow 22, Alchesay 4. Winslow had three players with triples including Chris Arellan, Jace Lyons and Sonny Wilbanks who had two. Justus Martin, Tyson Leonard and George Smith each had doubles. Winslow used three pitchers with six hits, four runs, and eight strikeouts and three errors. Before the game Head Coach Artie Griffith was honored with a plaque shaped like a home plate with a Bulldog on it and stating “Attitude is Everything” the motto of the Artie’s Bulldogs.
