By K. Conner Last Friday the Bulldogs hosted the Payson Longhorns in what became a pitcher’s duel and a defense game. In the top of the first inning Longhorn Dexter Waterman’s single would drive in a run to give Payson a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the third inning, Winslow would finally get on the board where on a ground out by Justus Martin at first base would allow Zane Corum to score. Sonny Wilbank’s single on an error would also bring in a run. Aiden Ortez Kislingbury would hit a double to bring in the final run of the game and giving Winslow a 3-1 win. The game went a complete seven innings with both pitchers going the distance. Winslow’s Sonny Wilbanks had four hits, one run, eight strikeouts and no errors. Payson’s Jace O’Conner had six hits, three runs, six strikeouts with one error.
