The Bread of Life Mission in Holbrook is reporting that all 14 positive cases of COVID-19 that occurred at the mission have completed their quarantine and are now safe. None of those exposed showed symptoms and the Navajo County Health Department has released them to go back to work. According to Director Cherise Myers, those who tested negative will be on a “wait and look for symptoms” status. The mission only has one man who tested negative and then re-tested positive with no symptoms. He will remain in the mission’s quarantine room for 10 days per the CDC guidelines. She explained that although the mission sanitizes all the time, a professional company came and sanitized the whole mission at the end of the quarantine. Myers expressed gratitude to the Navajo County Public Health for helping with the situation. “Now we know what to do and have the supplies to deal safely with this. We hope to be able to take in new people early July, but they will have to be quarantined for a time upon entry. “I’m so grateful that all 14 of our quarantined guys went through this with great attitudes and didn’t complain. The people testing negative picked up the slack and helped at the mission. It went really, really well. I’m proud of all our men and women. Our staff was stretched as well. Everyone went above and beyond. It’s great to be out of the woods. Now we will just stay vigilant.”
