By Greg Perkins Both Snowflake soccer teams are headed to the state playoffs. The boys’ team won their final three regular season games, including last week’s 8-1 win over round Valley, which propelled them to a second overall seed in the state playoffs with a record of 10-2. The Lobos will host No. 7 Madison Highland on Tuesday at 5 p.m. With a win in that match, they would advance to face either No. 3 Camp Verde or No. 6 Show Low on Thursday. That match will also be played at the site of the higher seeded team, which would be in Snowflake if the Lobos win. The 2A Soccer State Championship match will be played on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Williams Field High School. The Lady Lobos split their two final regular season matches played last week. Hosting Show Low on Tuesday, they defeated the Cougars in a close match 2-1. Hosting St. Johns on Thursday they played another close match, but this time came out on the wrong end of a 3-4 decision. Snowflake seeded No. 4, will have hosted No. 5 Show Low on Tuesday night to see who would advance to take on top seeded Northland Prep. If the Lobos win, they will play in the semi-final match on Thursday at the site of the higher seeded team. The 2A Girls Soccer State Championship will be played on Saturday at Williams Field High School with a 6:15 p.m. scheduled start time. The Lady Lobos had a regular season record of 8-4 this year.
