Avaleah Grace Phillips was born April 27, 2011, in Show Low. She lived in Holbrook until the age of two when she was diagnosed with metachromatic leukodystrophy. She and her family then moved to Phoenix to be closer to the medical help she would require. This genetic disorder resulted in declining health for the next nine years. With the support of doctors, nurses, therapists, friends, neighbors and family, she was loved on until she went to be with Jesus and her mama, Holly (Roberson) Phillips, on Aug. 27, 2022. She is survived by her brother, Alijah; her father, Rodney; her half-sister, Layla Torres; her uncle, Tilden Roberson; her maternal grandparents and legal guardians, Wallace and Lucy Roberson; her paternal grandparents, Rodney Phillips and Marilyn Cutler; her great-grandmothers, Pat Roberson and Dorothy Hardwict; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A private Celebration of Life was held Sept. 10, 2022, in Phoenix.
